Assignment #25: My Childhood Top Ten

Toys and Games

 1. My first favorite childhood memory was the GameCube (above) my all time favourite game station it held my favorite games and action characters (sonic, mario, digimon). In this year, it is pretty old and useless compared to a Playstation 3 or Xbox 360 but back then it was the bomb in next level entrainment for kids.

2. My second most favourite portable gaming system would be the Gameboy SP color (above right). Back then phones and other portables stuff did not amuse me but this is the next generetion of gaming. Almost every kid I knew owned a Gameboy. Which later made me want to buy the device it self.

3. When I was little, toys where the best thing a child could ever get. My favorite toy was Lego. The first thing that made me love Lego was that when ever I played with them I could make up any story and make any house, car, boat, plane, train, etc. Basically I could make anything I ever wanted. The only way to play with Lego was to use imagination and creativity. Which I have a lot.

4. When I was in grade 3 I was fascinated with animals and dinosaurs. When I my teacher read me the book "Slowly, Slowly, Slowly, Said The Sloth" by Eric Carle. It became my favorite book all time. the pictures and story line caught my attention. the best part from this book was that my teacher made me and my class do a project on making an animal portrait Eric Carle style and my animal was the blue and yellow Macaw.
5. When I was in kindergarten my teacher in america read a lot of Dr. Seuss books one of them was Green Eggs and Ham. A lot of the kids in my class loved the book including me. In time the gr.3 kids made a play and it was pretty awesome seeing it. Dr. Seuss makes many great books this would have to be my second favorite.

6. Another one of Dr. Seuss's amazing books is the most famous The Cat in The Hat. Every kid loves this book including me even my little brother, who wouldn't. The book stars off with a mischievous brother and a really smart sister, who are really bored one day then out of nowhere a Cat in a Hat comes in and the book just get more interesting. This book instantly comes as my 2nd favorite Dr. Seuss book when I was a little book.

7. Who wasn't a Pokemon fan when they were a kid. Pretty much everyone. I was a huge fan when I was 5. I had almost everything that was related to Pokemon. The Pokedex book was my favorite. It had all the Pokemon creatures from A - Z.

Assignment #22 - Faces of the World

For information on this assignment visit here

Globalization

Part A: Globalization primarily means that the world is going through a process of integration among people, companies, and governments of different nations, a process involving trade, investments and technology.

Link - http://www.globalization101.org/What_is_Globalization.html

"The Face of Tomorrow"

Part B: I think facial identities change over time by each race mixing in. Which would make the "Face of Tomorrow"

Part C:  What I noticed when I averaged all the faces is that all the faces lead up to a girl (since there were more girls in the site >>http://faceresearch.org/demos/average<<) and that  the most common skin tone was white (since it took place in the US).

Part D: I think this face best represents "the face of tomorrow" by mixing each race. But a bit more with the white and eastern races since there a more power and people, and more globalization and trade going among them.

Part E: Well me and my younger brothers face probably represents our nationality since I'm a bit mixed with white (England) and brown and my brother. But I more likely refer that my grandma is the face of my nationality because she a half white and brown but more white. While my mother is 1/3rd white and me 1/4th white.

Assignment #19 - If I Had $100

The organization I have chosen is World Visionwhich is an organization dedicated to working with children, families and communities to overcome poverty and injustice.

[WorldVisionLogo.jpg]

The gift I have chosen is a goat by goats are one of the most important animals to own to survive. Goats provide families with protein and income and dairy goats can give about 26 L of milk!  Most goats can survive harsh climates so i don' t have to worry how long it will last. If the family is lucky to have two goats then they can probably have a litter of 2 or 3 kids and in 2 months or an year they can have a herd! I think this is a good idea by that goats are gentle and kind animals and rarely cause injuries.

Assignment #16 - Eric Walters Response - "Part 2 - 1/2"

Part 2:

Bullying is an issue by when I was younger when I came to Canada from the US, the first province I moved in was Quebec. So, I was new to French and so was my family, and of course I had to go to a French school and I was in grade 2.  Everything I had to learn was in French and to be honest I was really bad at it I didn't dislike the language but my pronunciation and that would be when my bullying started, everyone made fun of my "French accent" and how I counted in Math like I would count in English instead of French. Some people would let me be, but others wouldn't. The school I went to was actually bully central I would always see grade 8's, 7, 6 having fists fights, trash talks and all. Back then I did have friends but they didn't really get bullied because they would be happy to get in a fight if you mess with them but not for me I was just a nerd. It was pretty harsh back then but everything turned normal when teachers came like everything was undercover. And when I went to grade 3 that would be the time I moved to Ottawa.
